One of the ways to guage how the market is performing, is to track the number of new build permits that are issued. For Franklin County, in 2016, there were 1,191 total single family building permits issued, in all municipalities. These are numbers reported through October. Delaware County issued a total of 818, in all municipalities. Delaware County issued 113 multi-family building permits in the same time frame, while Franklin County issued only 20.
